Smoke Tree Ranch has provided top quality training and instructional programs formatted to suit individual horses and riders since its inception in 1970. Betty Beran and her staff have been working together since 1991 to produce quality horses and skilled riders. These ladies continue to gain valuable knowledge by bringing prominent clinicians to the valley. Betty offers several clinics each year; they are open to outside horses and riders who are interested in furthering their education and learning from many other sources.

Smoke Tree Ranch horses receive the best care in Arizona. Weekly training, shoeing, and feed schedules are kept on each horse; individual feed requirements are met daily. Veterinary care is handled according to specific need - Dr. Martin Crabo and Chaparral Animal Hospital (including a full staff, Board Certified surgeons, and vet techs) handle all the health issues at STR. Shoeing requirements are addressed by Master Farrier Al Curry. Mr. Curry is at Smoke Tree Ranch several days each week; continually staying on top of the horse show schedule and each horse's shoeing needs. Stalls: 12' x 12' Box Stalls 12' x 12' Box Stalls with 12' x 48' Paddocks 12' x 16' Box Stalls All stalls are cleaned twice a day; new shavings are added daily All barns have misters, fly systems, and fans Electronic gates, locked in the evenings for security Office and bathroom areas are clean and kept supplied Three riding arenas with jumps Nine turn-out areas Several large tack rooms for training horses/riders European-Liberty Walker-A computerized system for conditioning, training, and rehabilitating injuries. Feed: Horses are fed three meals per day Lakin Bermuda blend pellets Alfalfa, Bermuda grass hay, and/or Orchard grass, Timothy/Brome mixed grass hay 14% grain mixture with bran and supplements (jumpers grained am & pm)
